Flight Training

AHB was the first NZ Training Provider to be accredited with CAA Part 141. The organization has New
Zealand Qualification Authority approval and is also a Signatory to the Code of Practice for International
Students.

AHB has fifteen experienced instructors to operate aircraft fleet that includes Piper Tomahawks and
Cherokees, Cessna 172s (glass cockpit), Rockwell Commander and Twin Engine Piper Senecas. These
aircraft are supported with CAA approved simulators.

AHB's primary training courses is done in conjunction with EIT Hawke's Bay. The Diploma in Aviation and
Diploma in Advanced Aviation are two of New Zealand's leading aviation programmes with a high practical
focus and a built-in pilot internship. Combining the two programmes provides students with a
large number of
practical hours (up to 600 hours)
, skills in aviation, business, instruction techniques and supervision that equips
them to enter the rapidly changing and highly competitive field of aviation.

The
Diploma in Advanced Aviation (level 6) follows on from the two year Diploma in Aviation. This
programme intends to further equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in operational aviation and
business, and to further develop their instruction techniques. This programme is designed to prepare students
to be more technically and professionally 'ready' for Pilot selection interviews with major aviation
organisations.

AHB also delivers other modular training programs including Private Pilot Licence, Commercial Pilot Licence,
Instrument rating, Instructor Ratings, Instructional Technique Course, Airline Crew Resource Management,
Airline Transport Pilot Licence (Theory only) , Basic Gas Turbine, and GPS courses.
